Gong Meditation The vibration of the gong impacts the body and its meridians. It releases blocks, reduces tension and stimulates circulation. The result of this is a reorganization of the emotional energy and feelings that are tied into the body structure. The vibrations of the gong accelerate the body's natural healing capabilities. On a physical level, it can relieve stress, lower blood pressure, and restore balance in mind/body - promoting well being. My head is still swimming!! Thank you Deborah South McEvoy for loving the gong enough to share with us!! Mitzi Hooper, yoga student I loved it! All I can say is that there was a time it was very Godly. Martha Wilson, yoga student Everyone and anyone should experience this in their lifetime. Thank you for sharing your gift. Angie Bolt, yoga student I loved it and I'm doing it again! However many times you have it. Racquel Ortega, yoga student Love you for being there for us. Debbie Baker, yoga student
Yoga Nidra Class with Gong Meditation and Crystal Singing Bowls Yoga Nidra, a yoga technique, dates back more than a thousand years. Yoga means union. Nidra means sleep. Known by ancient masters as a powerful antidote to psychological and physical afflictions, Yoga Nidra accelerates the body’s ability to heal, resolves excess stress, interrupts cravings, disengages from anxiety, depression and resentment, and restores wellbeing. Yoga Nidra takes practitioners into a deep experience of integrated relaxed awareness, while laying on their backs. Yoga Nidra is NOT the dreaming state, but the conscious deep sleep where healing can begin. Many of my students feel invigorated after taking the class. The first stage of Yoga Nidra happens between the Alpha and Theta stages, while the third stage happens between Theta and Delta. No yoga experience needed for this class. A Gong Meditation is included for the last 15-20 minutes of the Yoga Nidra class.
Difference between Meditation and Yoga Nidra Meditation: You remain in a waking state of consciousness while allowing thought patterns, emotions, sensations, and images to arise and pass. Yoga Nidra: You leave the waking state, past the dream state and into deep sleep, yet remain aware and alert.
DISCLOSURE: Students are to practice at their own pace in all classes. Everything in class is optional. Students are to follow any doctor’s advice given about exercise. Please let the teacher know of any injuries or relevant medical information (ie pregnancy, scoliosis) and definitely sound an alert if you feel pain in any pose.
